Yvonne Christensen

Yvonne Valle Christensen, age 63, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at her residence.  Born in Houston, Texas on March 27, 1957, she was the daughter of late Fidal Valle and Frances Smallwood Noel. 

Yvonne, for majority of her life, was a homemaker.  She had worked as a babysitter, Pizza Hut and was in housekeeping for Drury Inn & Suites.  She greatly enjoyed oldies music and dancing.  Having many hobbies, she enjoyed drawing, photography, crochet, reading and bowling every chance she had.  Yvonne loved to dress up in pretty dresses with a set of pearls.  Blue was her favorite color, however, that isn’t how she would want us to feel today. 

Being of the Baptist faith, Yvonne truly loved Jesus with all of her heart and now resides with him where she always longed to be.  One of her favorite passage of scripture was Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her husband, Stan Christensen; seven children, April M. Teague, Autrea C. Nail, Amy M. Druschke, Anthony G. Nail, Andrew D. Nail, Aaron T. Nail and Autumn Nail; five siblings, Ervey Valle, Norma Valle, Ramona Legear Steele, Michael Valle and Timothy Valle; and twenty grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 02, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
