Wilma “Willa Mae” Brown Williams, 80, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Deer Park.
She was born in Mitchell County on November 23, 1942 to the late Rev. Woodrow Brown and Ella Marie Duncan Brown.
Willa Mae was a great woman of faith who loved the Lord and reading her Bible. She was a member of Lackey Town Baptist Church. Her family meant the world to her, and she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very talented lady when it came to crafts, especially crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Williams; and three siblings, Arizona Hollifield, Fred Brown, and Mary Teaster.
She is survived by three children, Rhonda Smith, Danny Williams (Martha), and Holly Goforth (Steve); five grandchildren, Gwen Revis (Adam), Melissa McClellan (Mark), Matthew Taylor (Megan), Miranda Chapman (Bill), and Ashley Williams (Paul); twelve great grandchildren, Zoey Revis, Reagan Revis, Lilly Revis, Adley Williams, Isaiah Williams, Duece Barnes (Abby), Alex Barnes, Kyle Chapman (Emily), Silas Chapman, Weston Chapman, Bryant McClellan, and Makayla Taylor; one sister, Dorothy Mace; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. at Lackey Town Baptist Church with Pastors Jeffrey Parker and James Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:30 p.m.
