Wilma Sanders

Wilma Radford Sanders, age 66, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at her residence while her loved ones were by her side. A native of McDowell County, born December 31, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Clay and Martha Mace Radford. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one nephew, Jason Radford.

A member of First Baptist Church of Old Fort, Wilma was known for her love of working in her garden.  Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her loving husband of 49 years, Joseph “Billy” Sanders; one son, Billy Joe Sanders (Tammy); two sisters, Mary Lou Cable (Don) and Gail Lightfoot; one brother, Henry Radford (Ann); two grandchildren, Ashley Sanders and Dustin Sanders; one great grandchild, Greyson Smith; and several nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Mr. Don Cable officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
