Wilma Jean Crisp Rumberg, 80, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at UNC Health Blue Ridge in Morganton.
Wilma was born in Buncombe County, NC, on August 8, 1943, to the late Lonnie Crisp and Edith Pressley Crisp. She was married to the late William Bill Rumberg and was a life long member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. For over 30 years, Wilma was employed as an office manager and accountant at Darrell Ford. She later retired from Stamey Chrysler and Marion Dodge Jeep Ram. Wilma loved watching UNC Tarheels Basketball. Win or lose, she would watch every game until the end. She loved going to the beach and spending time in Pigeon Forge with her family and friends, especially during the Fall season. Through the years, she loved listening to Gospel music, sewing, participating in a variety of different crafts, and camping. Wilma loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was always up for a new adventure.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Regina Rumberg Davis; a son, Jeff Rumberg (Teresa); a sister, Pauline Randall; two sisters-in-law, Judy McCarty and Karen Rumberg; a special cousin, Doris Case; three grandchildren, Josh Davis, Katie Stover (Jacob), and Austin Rumberg (Zoe); three great grandchildren, Will, Rylie, and Micah Stover; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom she dearly loved.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. Tom Walker will officiate and Mr. Paul Baker will assist. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the Church.
