William Sturgess

William “Andy” Sturgess, age 55, of Waynesville, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, July 09, 2020, from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident in Hot Springs, North Carolina. The son of the late William and Rose Marie Gilbert Sturgess, he was born in Daytona Beach, Florida on September 22, 1964.

Andy, who had a big heart for all types of animals and lived life to the fullest, was known as having been a sports fanatic and was extremely enthusiastic about the outdoors.  He had a big interest in motorcycles and mountain biking.  Andy enjoyed spending time and making memories with family and friends. 

Left to cherish his memories are one brother, Rick Green; two sisters, Beverly “Bev” Steciuk and Cheryl Green; special friends, Ally Jones, Josh and Amy Dowdle and their son, Landon, Don and Alyssa Sinyard and their son, Sam and Jerry and Lisa Brooks-Thompson; along with many other friends he met along his journey. 

A celebration of Andy’s life will be held at a later date.
