William Floyd Sims

William Floyd Sims, age 86, of Old Fort, North Carolina passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Mission McDowell. He was born on April 19, 1936 in Polk County to the late John and Frances Camp Sims.

He is preceded in death by one sister, Mary McAbee.

Floyd attended Mt. Hebron Wesleyan Church and retired from Ethan Allen in 1999. He had been a truck driver for over fifty years. After retirement, Floyd enjoyed farming and visiting with his special friends at Vess Equipment.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Judy Crawford Sims; two children, LuAnn Ruppe and Holly Hamrick (Keefer); one sister, Faye Owens; three grandchildren, Marsha Cole (David), Keesler Hamrick and Jackson Hamrick and one great-grandson, William Ruppe.

In keeping with Floyd’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
