William David Justice

William David Justice, age 78, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on the night of Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his residence, his loving family was by his side.  A native and lifelong resident of McDowell County, born August 12, 1939, he was son of the late Winford and Lennie Pope Justice.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Joyce Justice; one sister, Joyce Legg; and one daughter-in-law, Becky Justice.

A kind and gentle hearted man, David enjoyed fishing and camping, gardening and cooking, but mainly, spending quality time with his family.  He was a member of Garden Creek Baptist Church and attended New Manna Baptist Church in Marion. 

David is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Hughes Justice; two sons, Gary Justice (Tonya) and Steve Justice; four stepdaughters, Pam Hughes, Vickie Poteat (Mack), Sandra Luther and Tonia Hughes; two sisters, Helen Wills and Bonnie Davis (Haskel); and two brothers, Dean Justice (Gay) and Donald Justice (Brenda).  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Ashley Salaj (Bobby), Tyler Justice (Adrianna), Parker Justice and Nate Justice; two great grandchildren, Addison and Issac; six step-grandchildren; two step-greatgrandchildren and his K-9 companion, Jelli Bean.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Tony Shirley, Chaplain Richard Anderson and Rev. Donald Justice officiating.  Entombment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
