William "Bill" F. DeHart

William “Bill” F. DeHart, 75, of Marion, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Monday, March 11, 2024. 

Bill was born in Buncombe County on November 8, 1948 to the late William Homer DeHart and the late Cora Ruth Hodgin DeHart. He was also preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Bailey and brothers, Charles and David DeHart. 

Bill was a proud US Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was also the owner and operator of Bill’s Auto Glass for thirty-seven years. He enjoyed fishing and golfing and was an avid Carolina Tarheels fan. Bill was a loving husband, father and pawpaw who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-six years, Carolyn Shell DeHart; his daughter, Chrystal DeHart Raper (Jim); two grandchildren, Caroline Raper and Samuel Raper and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Service will be held at Sugar Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 12:00 noon. Rev. Michael Robinson will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sugar Hill Baptist Cemetery.
