Wille Mae Petty

Willie Mae Steptoe Petty, age 64, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.  A daughter of the late William Payne Steptoe and Kathleen Brown Steptoe, she was born on June 27, 1952 in Bluefield, WV.

Willie was a former teacher’s aide in Beckley, WV and enjoyed crocheting.  She loved to watch John Wayne movies and the Jimmy Swaggart Christian Network.  Mostly, she loved her family and especially her grandchildren.

Willie is survived by two sons, Russell Petty (Mary), Kevin Petty (Amy); two daughters, Kathy Brown, Glenda Murray (Steve); one sister, ten brothers and eighteen grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, May 26, 2017 in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. prior to the memorial service.
