Wilbur T. Wright

Wilbur T. Wright, age 78, of Union Mills, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the SECU Hospice House in Forest City.  Born in Rutherford County, North Carolina on November 5, 1939, he was the son of the late Theodore and Lula Searcy Wright.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Wright; and one daughter-in-law, Kim Wright.

A special man who never met a stranger, Wilbur was known to be friendly to those he came into contact with.  He would often reach out to those in need and would care for them before himself.  Wilbur truly loved the Lord, and in his spare time enjoyed being outdoors deer hunting, farming, but logging was his passion.    He was a member of Cedar Creek Holiness Church in Lake Lure. 

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Dorothy Laughter Wright; one daughter, Teresa Foster (Kenneth); two sons, Dwayne Wright (Cindy) and Darrell Wright; five sisters, Darcus Wilson (Tommy), Hazel Mow (David), Helen Brown (Joe), Pat Dalton (Lindberg) and Guynell Vess (Reggie).  Mr. Wright is also survived by five grandchildren, Kendra Guffey (Jayme), Aaron Wright, Kaitlyn Fitzgerald (Kenny), Lacey Wright and Karley Wright; one great grandson, Malachi Fitzgerald; and a number of nieces, nephews and many friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Nealsville Church of God in Marion with Revs. Tye Sorrow, Dwayne Wright, Darrell Wright and Travis Cooke officiating.  Interment will be held at Cedar Creek Holiness Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at Nealsville Church of God.
