Wayne Lee Stroud

July 9, 1945 — September 18, 2019

On the morning of Wednesday, September 18, 2019, Mr. Wayne Lee Stroud, age 74, of the Greenlee Community, departed to be with the Lord at his residence following a battle with cancer.  A native of Richmond, California, born on July 09, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert and Norene Ingram Stroud.

Following 30 years, Wayne retired from Baxter Healthcare.  Known for working with his hands, he was a talented artist and gunsmith.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed going hunting.  Due to his health, Wayne was no longer able to hunt, and therefore he began doing paintings of wildlife animals.  A veteran of the United States Army, he was a member of Greenlee Baptist Church in Old Fort.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 52 years, Geraldine Stroud; three daughters, Lisa Owensby (Robert), Kimberly Leary (Warner) and Tina Stroud; one brother, Dennis Stroud (Myrtle); two sisters, Norma Masters and Sharon Buchanan (Wayne); three grandchildren, Kayla Owensby, Cory Jack and Aiden Kai Stroud; one great granddaughter, Tehya Rose Owensby; and one great grandson, Dakota Owensby.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Rev. Jonathan Tipper officiating.  Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park with military honors provided by the United States Army.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
