Wayde "Chris" Revis

January 10, 1959 — January 24, 2020

 

Wayde “Chris” Revis, age 61, of Forest City, North Carolina, passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation & Living Center in Forest City.  The son of Marzellia Peters Revis of Nebo and the late Carl J. Revis, he was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on January 10, 1959.

 

Following 31 years with the North Carolina Department of Corrections, Chris retired where he had served as a Sergeant for many years.  After retirement, he began a 3-year journey with Lowes Home Improvement Store. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, playing sports and was a UNC Tar Heel fan, weight/power lifting, and playing his saxophone and guitar.  Chris attended the Forest City Church of the Nazarene. 

 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Teresa “Carroll” Revis of the home; one sister, Gail Revis of Nebo; and a host of cousins and friends. 

 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Pastor Bobby Revis and Pastor Dale Austin officiating.  Honors will be provided by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety-Adult Corrections.  Interment will follow the service at McDowell Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
