Warren Dean Tate

Warren Dean Tate, 78, of Morganton, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

 

He was born in Rutherford County on January 03, 1944 to the late Jarvis Tate and Ruth Powell Tate.

 

Warren worked in textiles for most of his life and later retired from Baxter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. A member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Warren put the Lord first in all things and served Him and the church faithfully as a deacon. He loved working in his garden, fishing, and cooking outdoors in his cast iron pans. A wonderful provider, Warren was a family man at heart.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four siblings, Wayne, Roger, Dorman and Glady Jean.

 

He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years who he loved dearly, Barbara Elliott Tate; three children, Bobby Tate (JoAnn), Melanie Fite (Andrew), and Shane Tate (Samantha); eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two on the way; and three siblings, Gail Blackwell, Orleen Morgan (Tim), and Ronnie Tate (Brenda).

 

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, April 02, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church. They will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
