Wanda Sanders

Mrs. Wanda Loftis Sanders, age 75, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of McDowell County, Wanda was the daughter of the late Edgar and Annie Loftis.

She was an active member of the Garden Creek Baptist Church where she attended the Brea Sisters Sunday School Class. Wanda enjoyed crafts, but mostly, time with her family and friends. Two brothers preceded her in death, Jackie and Donnie Loftis.

Mrs. Sanders is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Fred Sanders; three children, Ricky Brown (Sandy), Jeff Brown (Marie) and Fred H. Sanders (Karen); two sisters, Ruth Furgerson (Will); and Pat Jordan; three brothers, Robert Loftis (Viola), Joseph Loftis (Christine); and Glenn Ray Loftis (Celia).  Wanda is also survived by ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Garden Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Coy Jeans officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the church.
