Wanda "Diane" Gilliland

Wanda Diane Gilliland, 57, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

A native of Marion, she was born on December 31, 1964 to Jean Elizabeth Atwood Gilliland and the late Ernest Lee Gilliland.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was known for making the best potato salad. Diane’s dogs, Domino and Rascal, meant the world to her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her two daughters, Crystal Frady (Damon Birdsong) and Taylor Poteat; two grandchildren, Sierra Frady and Tori Poteat; her sister, Lisa Rhyne (Scott); nephews, Cody and Jacob Rhyne; and her companion, Jonas Smith.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
