Wade Eugene Edwards

Wade Eugene Edwards, age 74, of Marion, NC passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at SECU Hospice House in Forest City, NC.

Mr. Edwards was born January 7, 1944 in Yancey County, NC to the late Harvey Edwards and Iva Pate Edwards.  He was a loving son and took care of his mother for many years until her passing in August 2017.  Mr. Edwards loved his family and was a wonderful father.  He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Leigh Edwards; two brothers, Joe Dean Edwards and J.W. Edwards; one sister, Colene Honeycutt and her husband, Delane; and a special friend, Brian Buckner.

Left behind to cherish Mr. Edwards’ memories are three children, Stanley Edwards and wife, Renee, Dustin Edwards and wife, Vicki and Jason Edwards; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Cameron, Joshua, Dustin Matthew, Nicholas, Christian and Grace Edwards; two extraordinary sisters, Judy Wood and Geraldine Pendley; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Edwards and Phyllis Edwards; several nieces and nephews; and two wonderful friends, Archie McGee and Clifton Buckner.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.  A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Ray Stockton and Larry Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow the service at McDowell Memorial Park.
