On the morning of Thursday, April 25, 2019, Virginia Daniel Scaglione, age 95, went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by her family while at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Rutherford County, Virginia was born on November 29, 1923 to the late Joseph and Maude Watkins Daniel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Scaglione; and one son, Sammy Ake.
In her younger years, Virginia moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she had lived for approximately 60 years. Following her husband, Steve’s, passing she returned to Marion. She enjoyed traveling, painting and shopping. A member of State Street Church of God, Virginia will be remembered for her outgoing personality and will be missed by all.
A loving sister, grandmother and aunt, those left to cherish her memories are one brother, Frank Daniel of Marion, North Carolina; one grandson, David Ake (Anika); one great grandson, Sam Ake; a number of nieces and nephews, including Cindy Smathers (Mike); and special friends, Fay Wright and Betty Brown.
A funeral service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Kenneth Lytle and Rev. Wade Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Virginia’s memory are asked to consider, State Street Church of God, P.O. Box 1011, Marion, North Carolina.
