Virginia "Dale" McCurry Reece

Virginia “Dale” McCurry Reece, 68, of Marion, passed away at Mission Memorial Hospital of Asheville on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

She was born in McDowell County on January 22, 1954 to the late RD McCurry and the late Eva Silver McCurry.

Dale loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the race track with her husband Pop. She also loved her dogs Duke, Daisy and Roxie. She will be missed by her family and all that knew her.

Along with her parents, Dale was preceded in death by her sister Glenna Ferguson and a brother Dennis McCurry.

Dale is survived by her husband of 41 years, Louis Reece; two children, Bradley Reece (Darla) and Kristopher Reece (Christin); a step daughter, Kristy Reece; a sister, Shelby Jean Cable (Frank); a brother Charles McCurry; four grandchildren, Charlotte “Charlie” Reece, Jace Reece, Knox Reece and K.J. Reece and her special buddy, Tiffany Cable.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service with the family receiving friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm at the funeral home. The Rev. Frank Cable will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Davistown FWB Cemetery.
