Virginia Mae Daye Webb, 94, of Marion, North Carolina passed away Saturday, July 02, 2022 at Grace Heights.
She was born in McDowell County on February 15, 1928 to the late Stewart Larkin Daye and Mary Edna Parker Daye.
Virginia retired from Cross Cotton Mill after 27 years. She was a faithful Christian woman and a member of Yancey Street Baptist Church. She loved gospel music. Virginia loved feeding the squirrels and hummingbirds, and she was proud of her flowers. She will be remembered as being very humble and trustworthy and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert “Eugene” Plemmons, Kermith Buckner, and Clyde Royal; and her siblings, Fred Daye, Ray Daye, and Faye Webb.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Roy Webb; three children, Tim Plemmons (Margaret), Judy Bumgarner (Mike), and Samantha Cobun (Nick); six stepchildren, Keith Webb (Joyce), Lynn Pruett, Henrietta Boston Harrell (Larry), Cathy Dugger (Ronnie), Donna Bielski, and Patricia Hyatt; six grandchildren, Lance Camp, Tammy Burgart, Patti Johnson, Emily Elkins, Kevin Bumgarner, and Tanya Worley; 11 great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and her special friend, Dorothy Caldwell.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 06, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Dean Owenby officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Yancey Street Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Grace Heights for the wonderful care provided to Virginia and her family.
