Virginia Lingerfelt

Virginia Young Lingerfelt, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Autumn Care of Marion. Born on October 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mae Ellis Young.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Paul Lingerfelt and her son John Robert Lingerfelt.

Virginia was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church and was known as a loving and kind person. She was a proud UNC fan. Virginia also was an avid volunteer with the Mothers Against Drunk Driving organization. She enjoyed life and loved her family.

Virginia is survived by a number of nieces and nephews who she thought of as her own children.

A memorial service to honor Virginia’s life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service with the Reverends Richard Anderson, Ken Mashburn and Ryan Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at McDowell Memorial Park.
