Virginia “Ginny” Stockton Sigman, 76, of Marion, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
Ginny was born in McDowell County on August 1, 1947 to the late William Lee Stockton and Ruth McKinney Stockton.
Ginny was a Godly woman who loved everyone she met. She especially loved children, and she ran a daycare for many years. She loved the Lord with her whole heart. Ginny was proud to tell others of His love. She was devoted to her family and was a faithful wife of 55 years, 9 months, and 3 days. Ginny was also a wonderful cook who made the best breakfast.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Alan Sigman; three children, Kelly Sigman Thomas (Brad), Misty Sigman Brown (Rick), and Richard “Ricky” Alan Sigman, Jr. (Brandy); four grandchildren, Matthew Casey Brown (Emily), Jennifer “Jenny” Brown Whitson (Landon), Madison Nickole Sigman, and Collier Randall Sigman; two great grandchildren, Lucas James Whitson and Baker Tate Whitson; four siblings, George Stockton (Jo), J.D. Stockton, Edith Grant, and Gladys Grindstaff; and a sister-in-law, Anna Smith Stockton.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Snow Hill Cemetery with Pastor Rick Wood officiating.
