Violet Sigmon

 Violet Faye Gillispie Sigmon, 91, of Marion, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Autumn Care of Marion.

 Violet was born in McDowell County, NC on December 19, 1933, to the late Katie McGalliard and Ruben Benton Gillispie. Violet was married to the late James David Sigmon and attended Cross Memorial Baptist Church. She retired from Burlington Mills after thirty years of dedicated service and was a member of Marion Moose Lodge. Violet enjoyed puzzles and was very talented with painting and crafts. She will be greatly missed.

 In addition to her husband and parents, Violet was preceded in death by a step son, Jerry Sigmon; and two sisters, Ruby Duncan and Hanna Belle Roland.

 She is survived by two step children, Brenda Buchanan (Mike) and Darryl Sigmon (Gloria); several step grandchildren & great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

 A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. Richard Anderson will officiate. Burial will later follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
