Viola Taylor

Viola A. Taylor, age 92, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Mission Hospital McDowell following a brief illness.  A daughter of the late John Davis Austin and Ethel Whitson Austin, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on January 3, 1927.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer E. Taylor; and one son, Ronald Eugene Taylor. 

A loving mother and grandmother, Viola, who was known to be independent, enjoyed reading and dancing. 

She is survived by one son, Ray E. Taylor (Becky); two grandchildren, Leah Roberts (Jason) and Rebecca Horton (Nathan); two great grandchildren, Luke Jason Roberts and Elizabeth Vashti Roberts.  Viola also has one great grandson, Austin James Horton, on the way.

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Marion.
