Viola Parker Foster, age 94, of Marion, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Autumn Care of Marion. A native of Rutherford County, Viola was born on August 23, 1924 to the late J.C. and Ina Harris Parker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Foster and one son, Stephen Foster.
Viola was a longtime member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church. She was formally employed with Washington Mills. She was known to be an excellent cook, and loved to work in her flower gardens. Viola was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memories are one son, Cecil Foster (Brenda) and one daughter, Sheila McClure (fiancé Donald Radar Inman); six grandchildren, Sandra Williams (David), Kenneth Foster (Teresa), Pam Pannell (Victor), Merle Foster (Becky), Scott Foster and Benji McClure (Amber). Also surviving Viola are her great-grandchildren, Alicia Cheatham (David), Crissie Mills (Thomas), Jasmine Arrowood (CJ), Kendra Guffey (Jayme), Kayla Pannell (Aaron), Amber Pannell, McKenna Foster, Jake Foster and Branson McClure (Ivy) and seven great-great grandchildren, Madison, Jackson, Mason, Jace, Karlee, Maddox and Abel.
A funeral service to celebrate Viola’s life will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Sugar Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Lawing officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place following the service at Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will like to extend a special thank you to Autumn Care of Marion for the love and care they have shown for Mrs. Foster.
