Vickie Lynn Allison Hutcherson

Vickie Lynn Allison Hutcherson, 67, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

She was born on October 21, 1955 to the late Floyd William Allison and Barbara Jean Fender Allison.  Her sister, Renee Freeman, also precedes her in death.

Vickie was a longtime member of Clinchfield United Methodist Church where she served as the head of the Missions Board and in numerous other roles. She was the owner and operator of Rumours Salon. She will be remembered for her excellent cooking and as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Vickie always put her family first and enjoyed taking vacations and sharing Sunday dinners with them.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Kenneth Hutcherson; five children, Amber Biddix (Derek), Kendra Hutcherson, Sherri Waycaster, Kevin Hutcherson, and Darren Hutcherson; four grandchildren, Bradley Biddix, Riley Biddix, Grayson Biddix, and Kaden Hutcherson as well as Miguel Mercado who she thought of as a grandson; and a special friend, Kim Williams.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Clinchfield United Methodist Church, 151 Ridge Road, Marion. Rev. Walter Pegues will officiate. Burial will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 12:00, two hours prior to the service.
