Troy Daniel Cope

Troy Daniel Cope, age 76, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, July 06,

2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, North Carolina. Born and raised
in Belmont, North Carolina, he was born on October 16, 1944 to the late Edgar and
Georgia Belle Brown Cope.
Dan enjoyed meeting with his bluegrass band at Lucky Strike and entertaining those
who came to enjoy the music. A member of Glenwood Baptist Church, he served as a
choir member and Sunday school teacher. Dan was also a member of the United States
Air Force, where he served as a medic.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia Eller Cope; one daughter,
Elizabeth Ann (Betsey) Cope; one granddaughter, Emily Rebecca Cope; one sister,
Glenda Cope Snowa; two brothers, Thomas Douglas Cope and Richard “Ricky” Cope;
one aunt, Marie Brown Starling; and a number of nieces and nephews. Dan is also
survived by, last but not least, his canine companion, Mica.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at
Glenwood Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Love officiating. Military honors will be
provided by the United States Air Force. The family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m.
until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
