Tony Phillips

Mr. Tony Phillips, age 75, of the Woodlawn Community, passed away on Sunday, June 06, 2021 at Mission Hospital McDowell in Marion, North Carolina.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, the son of the late Floyd and Lockie Honeycutt Phillips, he was born on June 22, 1945.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Phillips; and two sisters, Vickie Lingerfelt and Peggy Silvers.

Tony, who was a humble and kind man, was concerned more with the needs of other’s than his own.  He enjoyed playing horseshoes and was known to collect “what nots”.  Tony was a member of Coxes Creek Free Will Baptist Church in Woodlawn. 

He is survived by one sister, Patsy Smith; one brother, Bobby Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 08, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion.  A celebration of Tony’s life will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Coy Wheeler and Evangelist TJ Smith officiating.
