Tony Lynn Lanning

Tony Lynn Lanning, 25, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022.

He was born to Raymond Lanning, Jr. and Heather Johnson Lanning.

Tony was kind-hearted and always eager to lend a helping hand. He liked guns and had a true talent in fixing them. Tony was an avid hiker and enjoyed cross country trips. He once hiked over 100 miles in the Ozark mountains and was looking forward to a trip to the Yukon’s. His nieces and nephew were his pride and joy, and they affectionately referred to him as “Sergeant Funcle.” He also had a special place in his heart for his canine companion, Stella.

In addition to his parents, Raymond and Heather, he is survived by his sister, Desiree Lanning; his brother, Stuart Tipton; two nieces, Isabella Tipton and Inori Rose; and his nephew, Montgomery Tipton.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 03, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Randy Arrowood officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
