Timmy Leon Roper, age 63, passed away at Mission McDowell Hospital on Saturday, October 14,
2023. He was born in Rutherford County on September 04, 1960, to the late Jimmy Leon Roper and Emily Murphy Buyers. Along with his parents, Timmy was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Roper.
Timmy was a Christian and attended Carsons Chapel. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and mostly he loved his family; especially his grandchildren. He was also known as a good cook and was a very talented Taxidermist. His family describes Timmy as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Margaret Reel Roper; four children, Crystal Holbert (Chad), Josh Hardin (Crystal), Amy McFadden (James) and Christina Stevens (Scotty); two brothers, Michael Roper (Debbie) and Brian Roper (Leah); nine grandchildren, Jayden Wingo (Harrison Lane), Hannah Hardin, Zane Stevens (Christyona), Cherish Stevens, Ty Holbert, Acacia Hardin, Liam Hardin, Tanner Stevens, Hayden McFadden; best friends, Joe Conner and Jamie Hutchins; a number of nieces and nephews and his canine companion, Chip.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Donald Morrison and Sam Rippy will be officiating. Interment will take place after the service at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
