Timmie R. Hensley, 78, of Marion graduated to Heaven on Sunday morning, April 6, 2025 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

He was born in Asheville on December 2, 1946 to the late Talmadge McCall Hensley and Hazel Kathleen Radford Hensley.

For over 25 years, Tim worked tirelessly in the home building industry, and he was a longtime land developer. He possessed a unique vision for seeing value in things that others might overlook, which not only shaped his professional endeavors but also the many lives he touched along the way.

Tim proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career into his community involvement, where he actively participated as a member of the Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church. There, he made significant contributions, including serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and as the lead builder for the new Rocky Pass church building. Tim’s impact was felt far beyond his local community. He played an essential role in the construction of numerous church buildings in Haiti and served in the Gideons International.

A loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, he treasured his family deeply. He loved hunting, training his dogs, and the friends he made along the way.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nana Blankenship Hensley; two sons, Kurt Hensley (Renee) and David Hensley; four grandchildren, Luke Hensley, Emma Hensley, Gloria Hensley, and Callie Hensley; and his siblings, Ted Hensley (Shirley), Judy Hulvey, Terry Robinson (Les), Becky Ritch (Tim), Rachel Penland (Davey), and Janie McKinney (David).

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Revs. Alan Sailors and Luke Hensley officiating. The committal will follow in Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery and will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Donald Blankenship and Mr. Ted Hensley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International.
