Thomas "Tom" R. Carson

Thomas “Tom” R. Carson, age 63, of Charlotte, North Carolina and formerly of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Carolinas HealthCare System-Blue Ridge (Grace Hospital) in Morganton.  The son of the late Nathaniel and Mae Etta Rutherford Carson, Tom was born in Burke County, North Carolina on October 25, 1954. 

Tom, who was young at heart, enjoyed sharing his laughter; and loved to cook. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James P. Carson.

Left to cherish his memories are two brothers, Nathaniel Carson, Jr. of Nebo and Joseph L. Carson (Betty) of Morganton; three sisters, Mary Carson Tate of Nebo, Annie Margaret Carson Miller (Harvey) of Charlotte and Hattie Rutherford (Johnny) of Morganton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at St. John A.M.E. Church in Nebo at a later date.  The date and time will be announced once it has been confirmed.
