Thomas F. Hollifield, Jr., 79, of Nebo, peacefully departed this life in the early morning hours of Monday, March 24, 2025 at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Tommy was born in Marion on June 21, 1945 to the late Thomas F. Hollifield, Sr. and Polly Ann Anderson Hollifield. He served for over 25 years as the Lake Tahoma Warden, a career that he took great pride in. During this time, he also served as a reserve deputy with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. An avid outdoorsman, Tommy enjoyed fishing, especially at the Outer Banks. He most recently attended Zion Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fairah Suttles Hollifield; two sons, Timothy Brian Hollifield and Dennis Jeffrey Mills; and one brother, Herman Ray Hollifield.
He is survived by one brother, Donald Hollifield; a number of nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companion, Tanner.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Colby Truesdell officiating. Burial will be at McDowell Memorial Park at a later date.
