It is with great sadness we announce the Homegoing for Terry Bryon Good. Terry was preceded in death by his loving parents, "Buck" Reid Good Jr. and Sarah Caroline Good and his son Travis Bryon Good. Terry is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Hawkins, her husband Dusty Hawkins, is the proud Grampy to their daughter Hailey Hawkins and Travis' daughter Christian Good, his sister Jane Elliott and her husband David Elliott, Belinda Maupin, and Rose Sarawgi; and a close friend, Jan Beers.
Terry was an active member in his church, Mount Home Baptist in Morganton. He served proudly in the US Air Force during Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic, where among other duties, he helped load and send home our wounded in Okinawa Japan.
Terry retired after 41 years from a job he loved with the Clinchfield Railroad. He worked in the Marion, Bostic and Spruce Pine yard offices. His favorite was Spruce Pine, as he always said the folks up there were "real good people."
He was an avid firearms enthusiast and was passionate about working with the Carolina West Shooting Club in Nebo as their treasurer. While there he got the most enjoyment from mentoring young men and women of the 4H Club in gun safety and to help hone their shooting skills. He enjoyed going to their competitions to support them.
Terry enjoyed spending evenings of quiet contemplation on his porch with his family around him while he would enjoy the occasional cigar.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.
