Terry Ray Duncan

Terry Ray Duncan Sr., age 72, of Marion, North Carolina was received into Heaven on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in Mitchell County on May 13, 1945 to Bill and Frances Duncan.

 

Terry was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Charlotte and retired from Baxter Health Care after thirty-two years.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Roger Duncan.

 

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Victoria Duncan; a son Terry Ray Duncan, Jr. (Mesha) and a daughter, Rachel Duncan Zullo (Jason); six adoring grandchildren, Megan Zullo, Emma Duncan, Shelby Duncan, Avery Duncan, Hattie Zullo and Samuel Zullo; his brother, Larry Duncan (Brenda); sisters, Gayle Burleson (Steve) and Donna Duncan; sister-in-laws, Lois Duncan, Catherine Lee and Christine Noecker (Richard) and many loving nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service to honor Terry’s life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Warren Owens officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family interment with military honors will take place Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, Post Office Box 1893, Memphis, Tennessee 38101; Masonic Children’s Home, 2450 Riverside Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55455 or Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.
