Terry Wayne Brown

Terry Wayne Brown, 68, formerly of Dysartsville, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024.

He was born in McDowell County on December 12, 1955 to the late Ade Clark and Evie Brown. Terry worked with shrubbery in the landscaping business. He was also a very skilled mechanic. He spent a lot of his time tinkering with engines, both big and small, and he often gave advice to others concerning anything mechanical in nature. Terry loved NASCAR, and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. More than anything, he loved his family. He was wholly devoted to his late wife who he was with for 37 years until her passing in 2012.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Church Brown; step-daughter, Sandy Webb; and step-grandson Dusty Flynn.

He is survived by three children, David Flynn (Kara), Bruce Flynn, and Terrie Hargett (Joshua); step-daughter, Renee Flynn; ten grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Nora Flynn; six step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will hold a graveside memorial service on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gingercake Family Cemetery in Jonas Ridge.
