Steven J. Weiler

Steven J. Weiler, age 61, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville following a 1-year courageous battle with cancer.  Born in Sidney, Ohio on April 19, 1958, he was the son of Jessie McPeters Weiler of Marion, North Carolina and the late John E. Weiler. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Billy Allen and Gwen Allen. 

Following 17 years of service, Steven retired as a quality control chemist at Chem Tex in Concord, North Carolina.  Known has having kept things in order and neat, he enjoyed doing oil paintings, decorating and listening to a variety of music. 

Left to cherish his precious memories, in addition to his mother, are his loving wife of 39 years, Rebecca Allen Weiler; one sister, Susan McGinn (Wayne) of Marion; one brother, Alan Weiler (Joan) of Morganton; and two brothers-in-law, Randy Allen of Atlanta, Georgia and Curtis Allen (Suzanne) of Greenville, South Carolina.  Steven is also survived by his nieces and nephews who were like his own children; four nephews, Kerry Allen, Mac McGinn, Matthew Weiler and Nicholas Weiler; three nieces, Meghan McGinn-Sadler, Maitland Allen and Chloe Allen; and five great nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of Mr. Weiler’s life will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Rev. Chris Clayton officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
