Steven Wayne Miller

Steven Wayne Miller, age 62, of Nebo, North Carolina passed away at his residence on Friday, January 17, 2020 with his family by his side. Steven was born on January 6, 1958 to the late Edgar and Joan Burleson Miller.

His father Edgar, was stationed in Japan where the family lived for four years. Steven proudly served in the United States Marines. He retired from the City of Marion water filtration plant as the supervisor following thirty years of service. Steven enjoyed watching Nascar, football and was an avid Tarheel fan. He also loved gardening and canning, in which he often supplied his family with vegetables, salsas and hot sauces. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and Marine. He loved his family and his country.

Steven is survived by his wife, Robin Cheek Miller; three children, Lee Taylor, Christina Miller and Eric Miller and two brothers, Rick Miller (Sherry) and Jeff Miller (Olga). Also surviving Steven are a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Steven will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Reverend Donald Morrison officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marines.
