Stephen “Darrell” Noblitt, age 57, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills with his wife and daughter by his side. A native of McDowell County, Darrell was born on December 9, 1961 to the late Ray Gene Noblitt and Patricia Parker.
Darrell was a member at Refuge Baptist Church and worked in textiles. He was an employee of Coats American for sixteen years all the way up until his illness prohibited him from doing so. Darrell loved his family above all. He enjoyed hot rods, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a very kind hearted man, very quiet, laid back and he made a friend in anyone he met.
Left behind to cherish his everlasting memory are his wife of thirty-nine years, Sandra Noblitt; one daughter, Miranda Noblitt (Derrick); one grandson, Austin (whom he treated as his own son and thought the world of); two brothers, Sammy Noblitt (Angel) and Gerald Noblitt; and two sisters, Tammy Noblitt, Deana Leonhardt Lail (Wesley). Also surviving Darrell are two God granddaughters, Savannah Brown (very special papaws girl) and Madelyn Queen; two special young ladies whom were like daughters from day one, Amanda McIntosh Wyatt and Casey Brown and many more family members that meant a lot to him including in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Darrell’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Reverends Ronnie Gentry and Cy Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Also, a special thanks to Reverends Ronnie Gentry, Jimmy Upton and Cy Miller. And all the staff at Rutherford Hospice for helping us all in our time of need.
Flowers are accepted and appreciated, but those wishing to make a donation in Darrell’s memory are asked to consider, The Noblitt Family, 1205 Lake Tahoma Road, Marion, North Carolina 28752.
