Stella Wilson

Stella Elkins Wilson, age 86, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, February 05, 2017 at Autumn Care of Marion.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born October 03, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Laranza and Connie Schism Elkins. 

A wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Stella faithfully stood by her late husband, Charles Glenn Wilson, who was a retired veteran.  Stella enjoyed spending time with her precious grandchildren.  She was a member of Garden Creek Baptist Church in Marion. 

She is survived by her four children, Jack Wilson, Glenda Hensley (Alvin), Sandra Terry (Roland) and Charles D. Wilson; one brother, Don Elkins (Jean); six grandchildren, Jake Thomas (Chelsea), Anna Helms (Heath), Paul Hensley (Kim), John Terry, Caleb Terry (Maria) and Brandi Wilson; and three great grandchildren, Eleanor “Lola” Thomas, Brooklyn Helms and Jared Helms. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Garden Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Allen McKinney officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
