Sheila Laughter

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 19, 2019, while surrounded by her loved ones, Sheila Robinson Laughter, age 65, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at her residence.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born September 23, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Cleo Phillips Robinson.  Sheila was also preceded in death by her two great granddaughters, Scarlett and Olivia.

Sheila, who enjoyed making quilts, also enjoyed camping and spending time with her family, which she loved dearly, especially her “grandkids” or her “babies” as she affectionately called them, who were her pride and joy. Sheila was very loved and truly will be missed by all. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church in Marion.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Roger Dale Laughter, Sr., who she had just renewed her vows with in February; one daughter, Tina Laughter; two sons, Roger D. Laughter, Jr. (Tamra) and Chad Laughter (Diana); one sister, Brenda Wray; and two brothers, Earl Robinson (Linda) and Edward Robinson (Myra).  Sheila is also survived by her grandchildren, Aaron, Bobbie (Roy), Brandon, Brandy (Chris), Brian (Juanita), Brianna, Brooklyn, Devan, Haley (Justin), Kayla (Anthony), Matt (Bailey), Noah and Thomas; nineteen great grandchildren, Austin, Avianna, Barrett W, Barrett, Bentley, Braison, Chase, Cyrus, Gage, Isabella, Kiley, Kirstin, Leylon, Liam, Sawyer, Stevie, Tucker, Zaylee and Micah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Sheila’s life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Grandview Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Dicks officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
