Shaneah Ross McCauley

July 30, 1966 — September 2, 2022

Union Mills, North Carolina

Mrs. Jackie Shaneah “Neah” Ross McCauley, age 56, of Marion, went home to her heavenly father on Friday, September 2, 2022. A beautiful fair-skinned and red-headed baby, she was born in July of 1966 to the absolute joy of her parents Jack and Ruth Ross. Shaneah was saved at a young age and continually strived to be more Christ-like. Despite being diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy, a debilitating disease for which there is no treatment or cure, Shaneah’s faith remained steadfast.

Shaneah enjoyed and excelled in her educational pursuits, earning a Master’s degree in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University; a Master’s degree in Social Work from Appalachian State University; a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Anna Maria College; and was a graduate of McDowell High class of 1984.

She used her strengths of intellect and compassion to serve those in her community as a social worker for Hospice of McDowell and McDowell County DSS. Even as she became completely bed-bound she would pray through lists of past classmates, coworkers, neighbors, family, and friends; she wanted to continuously be useful to others.

In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of thirty-eight years, Larry McCauley; three children Aleigha West (Ryan), Caleb McCauley, and Charity McCauley; sister Jenna Ross Taylor; brother Jacob Ross; brother-in-law, Brad Taylor; grandchildren, Caylin, Maximus, Charleigh, Kendrick, Sophia, and Noah; nieces Ara and Brielle Taylor; and special family friend Teresa Hurt.

The family will be having a gathering of friends on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. Please no black – Neah loved bright colors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the MSA Coalition.

Beam Funeral Service & Crematory is assisting the Ross/McCauley family. For further information and/or to sign the online guestbook, please visit our website, or call 828-559-8111.
