On the evening of Monday, May 20, 2019, Howard Scott Huskins, age 83, passed away at the Brian Center with his loving family by his side. A native of Mitchell County, Scott was born on December 11, 1935 to the late George and Beatrice Ledford Huskins.
Scott loved playing music with his friends and loved woodworking. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Left to cherish his memories are his three children, Teresa Garland (Jesse), Annetta Gaye Robinson (Mike) and Vince Huskins (Dorothy) and two sisters, Lola Beam and Brenda Williams (Paul). Also surviving Scott are seven grandsons, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service, with military honors, will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Darrin Waldroup officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. A private interment will follow the service at Davenport Cemetery in Spruce Pine, North Carolina with Reverend Len Aldridge officiating.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Hospice of the Blue Ridge and the Brian Center for the love and care given to their father.
