Samuel Ervin Elliott

Samuel Ervin Elliott, 87, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

He was born in Rutherford County on March 29, 1934 to the late Arnold Elliott and Olive Stott Elliott.

Sam was a resident of the Montford Cove Community where he ran Sam’s Store for 27 years. He was also a farmer who enjoyed tending to his cows and cutting hay. He was a true outdoorsman who loved gardening and trout fishing. He was also a heavy equipment operator and helped build Interstates 40 and 85. Sam liked to play the guitar and was a fan of bluegrass music. He honorably served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Ledbetter Elliott; his son, Tracy Elliott and wife Jeanette; two grandchildren, Bailey Elliott and Ty Elliott; his best friend, Junior Dalton; and many friends and extended family.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Montford Cove Baptist Church with Revs. Steve Miller and Jimmy Upton officiating.
