Sally Gantt Roberts, a beloved mother, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. She was born on October 7, 1942, in Radford, Virginia, to the late Alvin and Hazel Gantt.
Sally dedicated over 30 years of her life to her career as an accountant for Baxter Health Care and continued to serve her community for an additional 16 years at Givens Highland Farms. Her professionalism and dedication reflected her commitment to her work and the people she assisted.
Sally was a true family-oriented individual who cherished each moment spent with her loved ones. She looked forward to gatherings during special events, relishing in the warmth and joy of family togetherness. Her passion for travel, particularly to the beach, brought her immense joy throughout her life, creating cherished memories that she shared with family and friends. Sally was fondly known as "Nanny" to everyone, encapsulating her nurturing spirit and love for her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Epley and husband Gene, Karen Clark and husband John, DiAnn Smith and husband Billy, and Avey Guffey and husband Raymond. Her enduring love will also live on through her long-time companion, Paul Capps, and her cherished brothers Jack Gantt and Randy Gantt. Sally was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a great-grandmother to twenty, with one more expected, in addition to one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Sally was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Deborah Roberts, her sister Dorothy Gantt Heffner, her brother Johnny Gantt, and her granddaughter Brandy Epley. Their memories will continue to be a source of comfort for those who remember her kind and loving spirit.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion, North Carolina, on March 7, 2025. The visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
