Ruth Yule

On the night of Wednesday, July 12, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family, Ruth Carroll Yule, age 90, passed away peacefully at her residence in Old Fort.  Born in Yancey County, North Carolina on January 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lizzie Allen Carroll.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon A. Yule; four brothers, Roy Carroll, Lawrence Carroll, Ed Carroll and Donald Carroll; and five sisters, Ethel Bradshaw, Mary Bradshaw, Carrie Creson, Thelma West and Lois Jenkins.

A precious soul, Miss Ruth was loved by many; and in her spare time, she enjoyed working her puzzle books, watching baseball and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.  Ruth never saw fault in anyone and had a love for everyone and everything. She will be remembered for her contagious smile and laughter.

Left to cherish her memories are her devoted daughter, Peggy Davis; two granddaughters that she loved dearly, Bridgette Davis Sellers (Jay); and Barbara Davis Fields; two great granddaughters that she cherished, Jayda Sellers and Alivia Fields; three sisters, Caroline Nanney, Bonada Bowen and Barbara Willis.  She is also survived by two nephews that she loved as her own, Ishmel and Billy Creson. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Rick Wood officiating.  Interment will follow at Remnant Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
