Ruby Revis

Ruby Shell Revis, age 91, of Marion, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2019 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.  She was surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Revis was born February 8, 1927 in Burke County, North Carolina to the late Carson Shell and Bertha Weatherman Shell. 

Ruby was a member of Redeemed Free Will Baptist Church.  She was the last charter member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening and going to church.  Ruby loved and cherished her family. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Revis is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Atlas (AA) Revis, five brothers, Raymond, Lloyd, Paul, Earnest and Lee Shell; and two sisters, Annie Wylie and Ader Freeman.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are two children, Linda Terry and Melvin Revis (Dianne), all of Marion; three step children, Joyce Laws, Paul Revis and Thurman Revis (Pat), all of Marion; two sisters, Becky Wylie of Marion and Edith Styles of Columbus, Georgia; nineteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren and thirty-five great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Redeemed Free Will Baptist Church. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Redeemed Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry McClain and Rev. Jim Ledford officiating.  Interment will follow at Revis Cemetery.
