Roy Dallas Morris

Roy Dallas Morris, 74, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 02, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center.

A native of McDowell County, he was born April 16, 1947 to the late Erby and Elda Johnson Morris.

Roy was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed baseball, golf, and NASCAR. Dale Earnhardt, Sr. was his favorite driver. In the Winter, he loved chili beans and cornbread shared with family. Roy loved his family dearly. His precious great grandson meant the world to him. He was a believer who will be remembered for saying, “When the Lord’s ready for me, He will take me.”

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Earl, Howard, Bill, Jerry, and Raymond Morris, and Georgia Davis.

He leaves behind his daughter, Renee Miskell (Douglas); two grandchildren, Michael McDaniel and Erin McDaniel; his great grandson, D.J. Cheeseman; and six siblings, Stanley Morris (Peggy), Martha Morris (Bobby), Margaret Bartlett, Lorena Murphy, Ruby Piercy, and Linda Piercy (Jerry).

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 09, 2022 in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Lavender, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
