Rose Ellen Elliott

Shortly before noon on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, Rose Ellen Elliott, age 80, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.  The daughter of the late Arthur and Maggie Robinson Boone, she was born in Yancey County, North Carolina on July 11, 1939.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Pete” Elliott; one sister, Olivie Boone; and five brothers, Clinton Boone, Charlie Boone, Calvin Boone, Albert Boone and Kester Boone. 

A very loving and caring person, Ellen enjoyed tending to her flowers and working in her yard.  Most of all, she loved spending quality time with her family.  Ellen attended Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Marion.

She is survived by one brother, Paul Boone (Helen); two sisters, Arzella Robinson (Clyde) and Mary Lou Jarrett; numerous nieces and nephews; and her lifelong best friend, Russell “Duck” Murphy.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.  A graveside service will follow at McDowell Memorial Park with Pastor Mike Zullo officiating.
