Rosalee Baker Ellington, age 95, known for her loving and caring nature, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at Autumn Care of Marion. Born on June 8, 1929, in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late McFee and Loree West Baker. Rosalee was a dedicated member of the Laurel Hill Baptist Church, where she drew strength and community throughout her life.
Rosalee's career was spent at Leviton, from which she retired with pride. However, her true passion was found in cooking and caring for her family. Her meals were more than sustenance; they were expressions of her love and devotion, bringing everyone together around her table.
She is survived by her brother Hal Baker Sr. and his wife Janna, along with her nephews Hal Baker Jr. and wife Amy, John Baker and wife Sara, and her niece Melissa Lancaster and husband Russell, as well as niece Vanessa Mitchell and husband Roger. Rosalee also leaves behind her sister-in-law Ann Baker and her great-nieces Katie Baker, Rachel Baker, Jennifer Loftis and Sonali Levens, along with her great-nephews Nathan Baker and Mitchell Loftis.
Rosalee is preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Ellington, her siblings Helen Baker, Ronald Baker, and Luther Baker, as well as her parents, McFee and Loree Baker.
A private family graveside will be held at a later date at Laurel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her legacy of love and care, will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her contributions to her family and community.
