Rosa “Rosie” Williams, age 71, of Marion, North Carolina, peacefully slipped away surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She departed Easter Sunday, her favorite holiday, which she always made special for all children.
Rosie was a member of Cornerstone Church of God and retired following many years from Baxter Healthcare.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Thelma Williams; her brother, Clyde Williams; and her sisters, Pansy Walker, Linda Patton and Margie Gibbs.
She is survived by her sisters, Irene Cain, Nellie Randolph and Violet Burdette; and her life partner, Grady Elliott. She had eighteen nieces and nephews and was adored by multiple generations of her family. The world is a little darker and sadder without our Rosie, but we will hold her in our hearts forever.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God in Marion with Pastor Tyler Nations officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital, Burke Hospice & Palliative Care and Countryside Barbeque for their kindness and excellent service during Rosie’s illness.
